OVER 500 Inspections Completed
In 2018 Alpha Building Consultants completed 74 full commercial inspections. Of these, 33 were multi-family dwellings. The rest were a combination of retail, medical facilities, storage units, industrial, hospitality and offices. Charlie also completed ENERGY surveys, repair verifications, draw inspections and ESA site assistance.
Alpha Building Consultants perform ASTM E2018 Due-Diligence PCA for commercial projects throughout the southeast including Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama and Louisiana.
Commercial inspections in Brandon, Madison, Jackson and throughout Mississippi are available in a number of formats to meet the individual needs of the client. A basic commercial (Non-ASTM) is performed in the same manner as a home inspection. Staring with the roof and moving through the entired building property systems are inspected for defects. The report can be customized to the property but usually includes a summary page, details about each area and system in the building and photos of defects.
The next level of commercial inspections is the ASTM compliant inspection. These commercial inspections are completed in the same manner as a basic inspection with the addition of the following:
- A review of plans, drawings, maintenance records and any applicable warranties if available
- Interview person or persons with knowledge of the premises
- Observe a sampling of repetitive items or units
- Provide cost estimates for both immediate and reserve studies
- Provide information and maps concerning topography, flood zones and zoning.

We complete PCA both as the primary inspector and as a subcontractor for Engineering Companies. Projects have included individual properties over 750,000 square feet to small office buildings. Projects have also included new construction including the Jackson Public School’s bond project to properties over 150 years old.
